Limited was started by the Commonwealth Development Corporation (CDC) of the
United Kingdom and the Government of Uganda through the Uganda Development
Corporation (UDC) under the name of Development Finance Company of Uganda
Limited. Later restructuring brought in DEG (of Germany) and International Finance
Corporation (IFC) as equal partners with CDC and UDC, each having a 25% stake
in the company. Its objective was to support long-term development projects
whose financing needs and risk did not appeal to the then existing financial
commercial lending institutions.
E-Banking will manage the growth of the E-Banking channels and business to meet
the dynamic needs of our various customer segments in today’s changing market
environment.
The incumbent will develop and execute an E-Channel
strategy that positions dfcu’s E- Banking business in a leading stance in the
marketplace.
Deliver Electronic Banking products to our customers
in the most efficient and cost effective way using appropriate technology,
whilst closing product gap versus competitors.
The incumbent will also grow the market share and
drive growth initiatives including payments and collections.
Identify and evaluate potential revenue
opportunities in new and diverse markets.
Routinely review existing retail and corporate
customer needs to provide e-banking solutions as appropriate.
Acquire new clients, agencies and business framework
for e-banking business to deliver e-banking business targets as agreed.
Drive the roll out of e-banking solutions.
Originate proposals and recommendations to
develop/structure E-Banking solutions to meet current and future needs of the
Banks’ existing & prospective customers.
Ensure the maintenance of operational efficiency and
risk & control framework within the specialist support areas as per operational
procedure guidelines.
Ensure a high level of utilisation of E-Channels.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of
Consumer Banking
Experience:
The ideal candidate for the dfcu bank Head of
E-banking should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer
Science or Economics.
At least two to three years’ experience in sales or
business development preferably in a Bank or financial or IT services industry.
Excellent interpersonal, written and oral
communication skills.
Excellent customer service and negotiation skills.
Innovative and creative thinking.
Working knowledge of bank products, services,
channels, operations, policies and any other specialist roles.
Detailed knowledge and understanding of bank core
processing systems and developments in that area that interface in one way or
another with E-Systems.
