journey in 1993, as a deposit taking financial institution then trading by the
name Capital Finance Corporation Limited. Licensed and supervised by Bank of
Uganda under the Financial Institutions Act 2004, Capital Finance Corporation
Limited offered a wide range of products such as savings accounts, business
accounts, fixed deposits, business loans services and remittances through
Western Union money transfer agency. ABC Capital Bank is part of ABC Group,
Kenya and has ambitious growth plans.
Job Summary:  The Head of Treasury will be tasked with growing
treasury business by providing effective leadership to the Business Unit’s
staff and management of the department’s operations. The incumbent do this by;
  • Optimizing
    marketing of Treasury products, ensure to maintain and manage existing
    customer forex trading clientel, look to acquire new customers and
    actively participate in the cross-selling of the Bank’s products by having
    close working relationship with the Chief Executive, Other business heads,
    Relationship managers /Business Development managers and all product
    partners.
  • Taking
    charge of Risk Management within the Treasury Unit and the entire bank as
    per Bank of Uganda Guidelines.
  • Taking
    charge of Business Development and System Development and utilization
    within Treasury.
  • Effectively
    optimizing on Utilisation of ABC Bank Financial Resources through
    Liquidity management, Forex trading and Bond trading.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
1. Business Development:
  • Increased
    Earnings on interest, fees and commissions.
  • Increased
    usage of Bank Products through Cross selling
2. Customer Relations:
  • Growth
    in Customer numbers and value
  • In
    charge of customer Retention
  • Conduct
    market/competitive research
  • Client
    Research
  • Problem
    Resolutions
  • Improved
    CSI
3. Improved Liquidity:
  • Increased
    Profits
  • Keenly
    track Audit rating for portfolio
4. Compliance with regulation
and regulation:
  • Compliance
    with CBK Prudential Guidelines
  • Compliance
    with the Banks Investment, Liquidity and Asset/Liabilities policies and
    procedures
  • Adherence
    to the Banks/Departments SLA and TAT guidelines
  • Actively
    participate in ABC Change programmes, governance and CSR programmes
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    ideal candidate for the ABC Bank Head of Treasury career opportunity
    should preferably hold a University Degree in a financial field from a
    recognized institution.
  • ACI
    Dealing certification
  • Comprehensive
    knowledge of treasury products with minimum of three years trading room
    experience.
  • Proficiency
    for evaluating market conditions and responding quickly, proactively and
    positively.
  • Excellent
    analytical and decision making skills
  • Broad
    knowledge of banking practices and local banking regulations.
  • Working
    knowledge of banking products
  • Skills
    in leadership and sales management
  • Ability
    to translate the bank’s corporate strategy into a departmental business plan
    and operationalise the same.
  • Ability
    to provide leadership that motivates staff to maximise their productivity
    and retention.
  • Proven
    ability to present, communicate and implement essential changes to
    position Treasury Department for sustainable success in competitive
    markets.
  • Demonstrated
    ability to effectively promote the bank and establish business networks at
    high levels within the target markets.
  • Willingness
    to take measured risks.
