The International Organization for
Migration (IOM), established in 1951, is the leading international
intergovernmental organization dealing with migration.  IOM works to help ensure the orderly and
humane management of migration, to promote international cooperation on
migration issues, to assist in the search for practical solutions to migration
problems and to provide humanitarian assistance to migrants in need, including
refugees and internally displaced people. The IOM, acting as implementing
partner for the European Commission, is seeking to recruit a number of local
staff for support functions assigned to the European Union Election Observation
Mission (EU EOM) in Uganda.
Job
Summary:
The Media
Analyst Assistant will provide technical and administrative support to the
Media Analyst such as providing the Media Analyst with information on the
campaign and the media, and monitoring the political content of media. The job
holder will also render support in the preparation of a written report on the
media for the Final Report. Also, the incumbent will carry out any other tasks
as may be required the Media Analyst.
Qualifications,
Skills and Experience: 
·        
The
ideal candidate for the IOM Media Analyst Assistant vacancy should preferably
hold a Degree in Journalism, Communication, Public Relations or other related
field
·        
A
minimum of three years’ experience (preferably with International Organizations
or NGOs in the related field).
·        
All candidates
should be non-partisan
·        
Excellent
command of both written and spoken English
·        
Fluency
in any other local language would be an asset.
·        
Excellent
analytical and drafting skills
·        
Good
team player
·        
Computer
literacy i.e. familiar with MS Windows, Excel and Outlook.
·        
Willingness
and flexibility to work in an environment with an intensive workload
·        
Candidates
must be willing to work flexible hours and be able to perform under tight
deadlines.
