Job Summary: The Social Franchise Manager will be charged with
the development and oversight of PACE’s Social Franchising strategies and
activities with the ultimate goal of growing the Franchise business
performance. The SF Manager has and maintains a macro view of the PACE Social
Franchising and works cross-functionally within PACE Social franchise(s) to
maximize effectiveness and outcomes. The incumbent will work dlosely with multiple
stakeholders to ensure internal team members understand and effectively execute
franchise strategy. The SF Manager proactively identifies challenges to
Franchise development and ensures that the right internal and external
resources and mechanisms are in place to overcome or mitigate them.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Create, develop and
monitor implementation of systems for and lead a strategic business unit within

- The incumbent will also prepare and monitor
implementation of social franchise work plans and activities in relation
to the PACE goals for the program and increases sustainability; - Develop and monitor key performance
indicator, implementing a system of monitoring across the country; - Develop financial systems and strategies to
move PACE Social Franchising function towards reduced donor liability and
eventual self-sustainability
2. Provide leadership to
Social Franchise team members on strategy and objectives, motivate team for
execution, recognize and reward achievements:

- Coach and mentor PACE staff on Franchising
3. Develop and monitor
implementation of strategies, systems, and policies for advocacy, PR and partnerships
development for the Social Franchise for both internal and external stakeholders

- Act as advocate for Social Franchise and
Private Health sector, identifying issues, concerns and priorities to the
PACE and the Social Franchising team - Develop and implement PACE Social Franchise
outward facing strategy with potential partners and collaborator. - Develop compelling objectives, strategy and
tactical plan for interaction/ collaboration between Tunza franchise and
potential external partners (insurance agencies, development partners,
donors, suppliers etc) - Build and strengthen long-term engagements
with the broad organization including the Executive and Senior Manager
Teams to ensure a high, deep and wide reach within the organization
4. Develop and monitor
implementation of systems and procedures to anticipate, evaluate and mitigate
financial, operational and reputational risks within the social franchise:

- Ensure all Social Franchise interactions and
activities are consistent with country regulations, laws, and internal
guidance and policies - Proactively identify challenges and risks to
Franchise development and ensures that the right internal and external
resources and mechanisms are in place to overcome or mitigate them. - The incumbent will develop and monitor key
performance indicator, implementing a system of monitoring across the
country - Develop and review tools and systems for the
Franchise, i.e. SF database, Franchisor and Franchisee manuals, etc
5. Develop and implement
systems and activities to identify, document and share success stories, lessons
learnt and best practices to inform program planning, implementation and institutional
development.

- Regularly report to PACE senior leadership
and PSI East Africa team on progress vis-à-vis PACE Social Franchise
strategic plan.
Key Performance Indicators:
- PACE Social Franchising Strategy Developed,
including move from ProFam SF to a more sustainable social Franchise; - Strategic alliances for the PACE Social franchise
created and maintained; - All relevant PACE staff have a clear
understanding of PACE plans to transition to a more sustainable SF; - Systems and procedures developed for a
Strategic Business Unit on Social Franchising within PACE; - Responsible for financial monitoring system
developed for the Strategic Business Unit with monthly monitoring and
reporting structure; - Social Franchising marketing plan in place
addressing products, price, promotion (including site communication plans)
& place and activities implemented that will lead to increased visibility,
customer volume to the clinics , increased revenue/ profits and clinic
financing; - Social Franchising Marketing Plan implemented
according to the set deadlines; and - An up-to-date, easy to use Franchisee
database in place.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate should preferably hold a
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or relevant subject or fields (e.g. finance,
entrepreneurship). Degree across a variety of disciplines including
strategic account management, marketing, medicine, finance, B/P
administration etc. - Possession of an MBA preferred.
- At least five years’ experience working at
the management level of a business enterprise; - Finance background either through education
or experience; - External experiences and international
experience is an added advnatge; - Broad knowledge and understanding of local
healthcare and small and medium enterprises systems is desired; - Previous experience in social
marketing/franchising an added advantage.
