Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) was established by an Act of Parliament;

1st July 2008. The mandate of UNRA is to
develop and maintain the national roads network, advise Government on general
roads policy and contribute to addressing of transport concerns, among others.

Job Summary: The Manager Land Survey will be responsible for managing
UNRA’s topographic and cadastral surveys, digital mapping, data processing and
analysis and upload of

producing Maps, topographic and hydrographic data, strip maps of Project
Affected Persons’ (PAP’s), road layout drawings and road profile drawings; implementation
of the quality assurance system of the survey process as well as survey records
and reports.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement guidelines, procedures
and quality assurance process for survey projects in line with UNRA
standards and Annual Statutory performance agreement; - The incumbent will plan and implement
topographic, cadastral and hydrographic surveys and mapping in line with
UNRA standards and Annual Statutory performance agreement; - Revise and update the GIS, Maps, strip maps
for PAP’s, road layout and road profile drawings for engineering design
and construction purposes; - The incumbent will survey, plot, set out and
mutate all the land in the Right of Way and obtain the necessary approvals
for transfer of titles; - Formulate systems for the quality assurance
of surveys in line with UNRA standards and Annual Statutory performance
agreement; - Plan and implement a system of managing risks
in the land surveys activities and develop risk mitigation measures; - Mentor and supervise the performance and
development of staff under the section in line with the performance
management system. - Perform any other duties as assigned by the Head
Survey and Documentation.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant for the UNRA Manager Land
Survey job opportunity should hold an Honors Degree in Surveying; - Possession of a Master’s Degree in a related
field and other Post Graduate qualifications in Surveying or other
relevant field will be an added advantage; - Professional registration with a relevant
body or its equivalent in the Commonwealth is a must; - Computer literacy skills
- Proficiency and working knowledge of GIS is a
must. - At least five years’ experience in surveying;
- Previous experience in preparing survey
documentation; - Demonstrated working experience in managing
diverse professionals. - High degree of integrity;
- Excellent track record of outstanding
performance; - Excellent interpersonal, particularly
staff/management relation skills - Excellent oral and written communication
skills; - Ability to manage/supervise multi skilled
teams and deliver accurate results - in a timely manner and in an environment with
multiple and challenging - tasks.
