About UNRA:
The
Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) was established by an Act of Parliament;
The Uganda National Authority Act, No. 15 of 2006. UNRA became operational on
1st July 2008.  The mandate of UNRA is to
develop and maintain the national roads network, advise Government on general
roads policy and contribute to addressing of transport concerns, among others.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Carry out internal investigations of
    compliance issues, i.e. ethical or disciplinary misconduct by staff.
  • File appropriate compliance investigative
    reports with recommendations to the Manager for further disciplinary
    actions.
  • Work in liaison with other directorates and
    departments of Audit and Human Resource to carry out monitoring and evaluation
    programs and compliance reviews in all stations.
  • Maintain documentation/Records of all
    compliance activities such as complaints, investigative files, Administrative
    files and other correspondences.
  • Provide mentorship and training to the staff
    on compliance related topics e.g. Code of Conduct, Policies, Procedures
    and General Security.
  • Perform any other duty that may be assigned
    to him/her from time to time by the Manager Compliance.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The applicant for the UNRA Compliance Officer
    career vacancy should hold an Honors Degree in Law, Finance, Economics,
    Business Administration or relevant field;
  • Possession of a Master’s Degree in Law,
    Finance, Economics, Business Administration or relevant field is an added
    advantage;
  • Possession of any other post graduate
    qualifications in the relevant field are an added advantage;
  • At least three years’ experience in a related
    field, to include demonstrated leadership.
  • Familiarity with operational, legal,
    financial, quality assurance, and human resource procedures and
    regulations.
  • High level of integrity;
  • Proven track record of outstanding
    performance;
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
    and to develop subordinates;
  • Excellent interpersonal, particularly
    staff/management relations;
  • Excellent oral and written communication
    skills;
  • Computer literacy skills
  • Ability to work and produce accurate results
    in an environment with multiple and challenging tasks.
