Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for providing the Circulation
Desk, Reserve, Reference and resource centre. - Regularly checks reading materials out of and
back into the Library - Responsible for Shelving and Shelf reading
- Compile charging and discharging statistics
- Issues overdue notices and reminders to
library users. - The incumbent ensures that defaulters are
brought to the attention of Assistant Librarians. - Ensures security of Library stock
- Ensures only eligible Library users come into
the Library. - Ensures that accurate records of Library
users are kept. - Update and maintain the Library Catalogue.
- Performs any other official duties that may
be assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidates for the Library
Assistant vacancies must hold a Diploma in Library and Information Science
or equivalent qualification. - A minimum of three years of librarian experience.
- Computer literacy skills
- Possess excellent communication, leadership
and interpersonal skills. - Impeccable level of integrity.
