About US:
Kampala
Capital City Authority (KCCA) is the legal entity, established by the Ugandan
Parliament, is responsible for the operations of the capital city of Kampala in
Uganda. Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) secured funding from the Bill and
Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) and Department for International Department
(DfID), UK, for a three (3) year Faecal Sludge Management (FSM) Project. The
Project seeks to improve FSM in the vulnerable urban poor areas of Kampala City
through an efficient and affordable private sector led service delivery model.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Coordinate all project activities in
    collaboration with the Project Team Leader
  • The incumbent will develop and seek approvals
    for project work plans, budgets and progress reports in line with project
    work plan.
  • Develop and implement systems ensuring
    compliance with the procurement and accountability processes
  • Build and strengthen working relationships
    with key partners and stakeholders throughout the project life cycle.
  • Manage and monitor all initially identified
    and emerging risks of the project and provide advice on mitigation
    strategies to KCCA management and key project partners to make timely
    decisions.
  • Keenly monitor and evaluate the
    implementation of the project in line with the project implementation
    guidelines.
  • and procedures, contracts management, social
    safeguards, occupational health and safety and applicable environmental
    laws and regulations.               
  • Prepare and submit regular reports to the
    project leaders in line with requirements.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicants should be Ugandans holding an
    Honor’s Bachelor’s degree in any of the following courses: Water
    Management, Sanitation, Environmental Health, Environmental Management
    Policy and Planning, Environmental Engineering, Public Health or any other
    related course from a recognized university/awarding institution plus a
    Master’s degree in any of the above field. Specialized training in Project
    planning and implementation and membership to relevant professional
    associations are desirable.
  • A minimum of eight years of proven practical
    working experience, at least three (3) of which should have been involved
    in project management at senior level, in informal settlements of cities or
    urban settings of sub-Saharan Africa, preferably in the field of water and
    sanitation, environmental management, environmental health, public health
    or waste management.
  • Age: 30 Years and above
