Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) is an international non-profit organization
which is a partnership of infectious diseases and public health specialists.
The overall objective of the IDI is to strengthen health systems with strong
emphasis on Infectious Diseases, through Research and Capacity Development. IDI
has five operational areas through which it works to achieve its mission:
Prevention, Care and Treatment; Training, Research and Laboratory services
(provided through a partnership with the Makerere University – John Hopkins
University Core Lab) and Outreach.

Infectious
Diseases Institute (IDI) received funding from Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention (CDC)/PEPFAR to implement a comprehensive HIV/AIDS services in the
mid-western Uganda Districts of Kiboga, Kibaale, Kyankwanzi, Hoima, Masindi, Buliisa
and Kiryandongo. The project is called “Accelerating Comprehensive HIV/AIDS
Service Delivery through Health System Capacity Building and Technical
Assistance of District Health Teams and Health Facilities in Western and West
Nile Regions in the Republic of Uganda under PEPFAR.”

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Project Administrator will administer
agreements and contracts with multiple project partners including service
providers; - Ensure procurement, storage and installation
of project related goods and materials (working with relevant IDI staff,
through the IDI procurement system); - Provide oversight on project financial
management, ensure that expenditures and reports are within approved
budgets and in line with donor and IDI guidelines; - Update and maintain appropriate documentation
of project financial management policies and procedures; - Offer support in budget preparation and
monitoring; - Provide monthly and quarterly expenditure
forecasts; - Render support in the preparation of reports
for internal and external use; - Assist in meeting reporting obligations to
funding entities; - Keenly monitor project budget variance
reports ; - Maintain an up-to-date inventory of the
project assets and ensure it is regularly updated; - Coordinate all project logistics including
procurement, transportation, shipping, storage and maintenance; - Perform any other duties as may reasonably be
assigned from time to time by the Program Manager.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant for the Infectious Diseases
Institute (IDI) Project Administrator vacancy should preferably hold a university
degree in administration, business management, or another related field - Excellent written and verbal communication
skills; - Demonstrated abilities in project
administration; - Previous experience in procurement/ordering,
purchasing and tracking supplies; - Good problem solving skills;
- Proven ability to work independently; and
- Proficient computer skills including the use
of MS Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
