Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) was established to implement the
provisions of The UCC Act 2013 Laws of Uganda with a principal goal of
developing a modern communications sub-sector and Infrastructure in Uganda, in
conformity with the operationalization of the Telecommunications Policy.
Relations will be in charge of developing and implementing the Commission’s
communications strategy, frameworks and programs aimed at ensuring effective
management of the public and International affairs in accordance with the
Commission’s mandate.
- Offer technical support in the development,
implementation and review of the communications strategy focus on both
local and international levels in the Commission’s strategy. - The jobholder will be tasked with sensitizing
the public about the commission activities, policies in line with the
Commission’s mandate - Co-ordinate local and international
participation of the Commission and promote its collaboration with
intergovernmental, regional and international organizations. - The incumbent will ensure the implementation
of the UCC communications policy and international relations policy. - Develop and implement branding, media
management and corporate social responsibility strategies to promote
visibility and a positive image of the Commission. - Establish, manage and maintain key
stakeholder relationship and strategic partnerships in the communications
industry, civil society organization within and outside Uganda. - Develop and implement a corporate sponsorship
program that is in line with the Commission’s organizational objectives - Develop and monitor Service Level Agreements
with the key service providers (media houses, advertising agencies, events
management agencies) to ensure efficiency, Value for Money and timely
delivery against set targets. - Establish and develop strategic international
partnerships. - Perform any other duties as assigned by the Director
Corporate Affairs.
- The applicant should hold a Master’s degree
in Mass Communication , International Relations , Public Relations, or
related area; and - The prospective UCC employee should also hold
a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication , Engineering, International
Relations , Public Relations or related area; - Should have membership in a professional
body. - At least eight (8) years’ experience in
Corporate Communications, four of which in a managerial position in a
similar corporate environment. - Public and International relations skills
