funding a financial services inclusion programme to provide access to
appropriate products for poor people and small and medium enterprises.
Job Summary: The Partner Support Specialist will be responsible
for supporting partners in developing business models for sustainable financial
services and products. The  incumbent
will be responsible for the management of partner projects (contract
managements, disbursement of grant funds)
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
Significantly contribute
to the development and implementation of IFS strategy having clear objectives
and targets that will achieve FSDU’s vision:
  • Carry out stakeholder and gap analysis to
    identify areas for strategic address
  • Identify and agree (with Program Lead)
    strategic actions and milestones to leverage partnerships and to address
    gaps
  • Develop work plan to implement strategic
    actions related to partner support as assigned
  • Stay abreast with compliance requirements
    (external/internal) of financial/IT sector that can impact strategy
    implementation
Support partners in
developing well documented comprehensive business and implementation plans that
deliver successful financial innovation products to MSMEs and poor individuals.
  • Receive project concepts from clients and
    ensure a  clear understanding of
    concept
  • Lead discussions with FSDU team to ensure
    idea/concept is viable and aligned with FSDU strategy
  • Feedback & follow up with clients re:
    approval, viability, improvements needed and how these can be addressed
  • Work closely with partners and with
    Innovation Specialist to develop business and implementation plans in line
    with FSDU requirements
  • Identify partner risks and capacity gaps that
    could inhibit successful implementation of product solution and measures
    to address these gaps
Deliver funding proposals
aligned to FSDU mission and objectives.
  • Work closely with the partner to develop
    funding proposal in line with FSDU/Donor requirements and submit to
    Program Lead for appraisal
  • Draft ToRs for consultants/expertise that may
    be necessary and forward to Program Lead for approval
  • Keenly review Fiduciary report
    recommendations and ensure these are incorporated into Partner’s business
    and implementation plan
Ensure partners are able
to manage and deploy donor funds as per agreed guidelines and or requirements
to ensure successful program delivery
  • Ensure that FSDU grantee guidelines are
    aligned with donor requirements
  • Regularly review, ensure partner
    understanding and sign-off of FSDU grantee requirements
Ensure donor funds are
disbursed and utilized as per agreed contractual requirements
  • Provide relevant input to project budget plan
    & implementation
  • Track and follow up (with relevant
    stakeholders) status of disbursement using tracker
  • Keenly review status of funds usage with
    partner to ensure disbursement is as per budget plan
  • Work closely with the Innovations Specialist
    and Partner to identify potential snags/adjustments to funds disbursement
    plan
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant for the Partner Support
    Specialist job placement should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics,
    Commerce. Possession of a Master’s in Economics /MBA / Commerce is an
    added advantage
  • Preferred Certification Project Management (PMP/PRINCE2)
    or Post Graduate Diploma in Project Management preferred
  • A minimum of three years’ experience as a
    Business Analyst
  • Accounting knowledge and experience is an
    added advantage
  • Considerable experience in financial services
    product development
  • Substantial experience in proposal writing
    and development
  • Considerable Project Management experience
  • Computer proficiency particularly in the use
    of Excel
