About DGF:
Democratic
Governance Facility (DGF) was established by eight of Uganda’s International
Development Partners including Austria, Denmark, EU, Ireland, Netherlands,
Norway, Sweden and the UK to manage coherent, harmonized and coordinated
multi-donor support to state and non-state actors aimed at enhancing democratic
governance in Uganda. It is based upon three components: Deepening Democracy;
Rights, Justice and Peace; and Voice & Accountability.

Job Summary: The Programme Accountant will mainly be in charge
of managing all the internal processing and accounting activities including
accountabilities related to the Democratic Governance Facility (DGF) PMU.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Keenly review staff accountabilities to
ensure they are complete and accurate, identify areas of discrepancy and
follow up differences or variances identified to resolve the issue and
reconcile the accounts on a timely basis. - Make cash withdrawals required for programme
activities and the DGF PMU, analyze and update cash books for the DGF and
prepare daily and weekly cash summary for submission to the Senior
Financial Management Advisor for review and approval.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The Democratic Governance Facility (DGF) Programme
Accountant should hold a Bachelor’s degree in an accounting related field
and a professional accounting qualification such as CPA, ACCA or equivalent. - A minimum of two to five years’ experience in
accounting preferably in a multicultural environment. - Working knowledge in NAVISION.
- Working knowledge of local and international
accounting policies, procedures and standards; - Knowledge of the Uganda Taxation laws
