Job Summary: The Business Intelligence & Planning Manager will
oversee MTN’s Business Planning from a Sales & Distribution perspective and
monitor company performance against targets and strategies
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Keenly monitors and analyzes Telecoms trends,
    opportunities for future growth and channels distribution
  • Identifies and monitors competitors’ performance
    and activities to anticipate competitor initiatives
  • Identifies and monitors competitors’ performance

  • In charge of tracking the identified S&D related
    business risks and ensuring quick and appropriate resolution
  • Responsible for identifying and
    establishing   models to monitor and
    understand the effect of Competitor actions on churn in   order to build tactical corrective
    actions.
  • Offers technical support in the optimization
    of the Department’s value propositions through developing segmented
    propositions   targeting specific
    customers, developing competitive pricing strategies and   developing competitive promotions and
    sound business cases
  • Provides supports for financial analysis
    and   modeling for all promotions
    and price reductions to aid decision making.
  • Provides supports for COS analysis and
    modeling for all Dealer incentives, discounts and Bonus matrices to aid
    decision making
  • Business Intelligence use and application for
    distribution optimization
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor’s
    Degree in Statistics or Commerce, or MBA with a bias in Finance
  • At least five years’ experience in area of
    specialization; with experience in supervising/managing others
  • Five years’ experience in Business analysis,
    financial modeling and product evaluation
  • Prior experience in marketing analytics for
    telecommunications or banking industry is desirable
  • Proficient with statistical applications such
    as SPSS, EPINFO
  • Computer literacy i.e. proficient with MS
    Office application especially Excel and Power Point
  • Working knowledge of the telecommunications
    industry
  • Familiarity with MTN Uganda consumer products
    and services
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of
    competitor’s products
  • Local and international trends and markets
  • Consumer environment and factors impacting
    consumer demand
  • Knowledge of customer value management
  • Consumer behavior and market dynamics and
    research principles
  • Skills and experience in financial analysis
    as well as high volume data analysis
  • Knowledge and ability to apprehend the
    interrelationships of presented facts in such a way as to guide action
    towards a desired goal
  • Skilled in reporting and performance analysis
  • Excellent verbal and written communications
    skills
  • Strong analytical skills and Problem solving
    skills
  • Good relationship building and management
    skills

    abilities
