Job Summary: The HR-Officer-Training and Development will
support BRAC Uganda Microfinance Ltd in managing the learning and professional
development of BRAC Uganda Microfinance staff. The incumbent will also assist
with the ongoing, long-term improvement of employees’ skills, enabling them to
fulfill their potential within BRAC Uganda Microfinance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Identify training and development needs
    through job analysis, field visit, Performance management tools, reports
    and research among others.
  • In charge of designing and expanding training
    and development programmes based on the needs of the microfinance entity
    and the individual.
  • Oversee the development of the training
    calendar/plan and budgets
  • Designing training curriculum as per needs
    assessed.
  • In charge of developing effective induction
    programmes.
  • Producing training materials for in-house
    courses. Managing the delivery of training and development programmes.
  • Responsible for monitoring and reviewing the
    progress of trainees through post training surveys such as questionnaires
    and discussions with managers.
  • Ensure that all statutory training
    requirements are met. Delivering training to staff.
  • In charge of evaluating training and
    development programmes, amending and revising programmes as may deem
    necessary, in order to adapt to changes occurring in the work environment
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant should preferably hold a Bachelor’s
    Degree in Human Resource Management (HRM), or any other relevant Degree
    accompanied by a PGDE in HRM
  • Essential additional qualifications for this
    role are a training of trainers and customer service certificates.
  • At least two years’ working experience in a
    busy environment preferably in banking or microfinance industry
  • Dynamic and Flexible individual who can
    manage frequent travel to Regional, Area and Branch offices.
  • Previous exposure and experience in
    developing and implementing strategic/ operational plans for financial
    institutions.
  • Possess excellent communication and
    Interpersonal skills
  • Excellent knowledge and application of local
    and International labor laws
  • Computer literacy i.e. proficient in the use
    of Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc
