About RSCE:
The
Regional Service Centre Steering Committee is the decision-making body for
RSCE, in compliance with General Assembly resolutions, United Nations
Secretariat rules and regulations, strategic guidance from United Nations
Headquarters and oversight bodies. The Steering Committee consults with the
Global Field Support Strategy Implementation Coordination Team, as required.

The
Regional Service Centre, as approved by the Member States, is owned, managed
and staffed by the regional missions it serves. This framework reinforces the
existing missions’ chain of command structures and lines of authority in a
manner that does not create an additional layer between Headquarters and the
regional missions. It also ensures that staffing for RSC.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: Under the overall supervision of the Chief
Regional Systems Support, the incumbent will perform the following duties:

- Render support in administering RSCE Service
Center Assets (Non-expendable and expendables) by providing support to the
Warehouse i.e. receiving of materials, storing in the bin locations,
distribution, and facilitate the hand over to the next user and the return
of the assets to the Warehouse. - Assist in conducting stock count to ensure
accurate data physically and electronically. - In charge of physical verifications,
bar-coding, inventory matching to ensure that Mission Assets and Section
Assets records reconcile; - Work closely with MOVCON for the incoming and
outgoing cargos. - Set aside dedicated time for training and
capacity-building on the use of GALILEO Inventory Management System. - Perform any other duties and responsibilities
as directed by Chief AMMU.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the United Nations
RSCE Telecommunication Assistant – Asset Management Assistant career
placement should hold a High School Diploma with a certificate/ diploma of
other supplemental academic qualifications or training in Logistics; - A minimum of three years of relevant
practical work experience is required. - Familiarity with Communications and
Information Technology Assets/Materials is desirable. - Proven ability to produce quality output
under pressure and work on various tasks simultaneously. - Languages: Fluency in oral and written English
is required.
Personal Competencies:
- Communication: Good written and oral skills, including
ability to prepare memorandum and reports. - Technological Awareness: Demonstrates good knowledge of
information technology and applies it in work assignments. Experience
using Galileo Inventory Management System (IMS) is an advantage. - Teamwork and Respect for Diversity: Good interpersonal skills; demonstrated
ability to develop and maintain effective work relationships with various
offices and counterparts of RICTS, in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic
environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
