accountancy body in Uganda, established by the Accountants Act. The Institute
also has a mandate to conduct professional accountancy examinations in Uganda.

Job Summary: The Administrative Officer will provide the
overall day-to-day management of all operations at the SACCO and account for
all financial and other resources in the delivery of its mandate. The incumbent
will administer the SACCO’s secretariat in line with the set policies and strategic
plan.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- In charge of membership mobilization and
growth of the SACCO assets. - In charge of developing policies and presenting
them to the committee for approval. - Implementation and enforcement of drawn policies.
- Prepare and operationalise plans and budgets.
- Present monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
of performance, budget and compliance to the committee. - The incumbent will also prepare and maintain
the society’s books of account and financial statements in line with
statutory provisions. - Maintain records of assets and liabilities
and meet the requirements for the insurance coverage. - Prepare and forward to the registrar of
cooperatives such reports as may be required. - Represent the society in business
transactions. - The jobholder will also process loan
applications. - Implement the annual general meetings’
decisions and recommendations made by the supervisory committee, external
auditors and the registrar of cooperatives. - Perform any other duties assigned by the
committee.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant should ideally hold a B.Com/BBA/BSc.Accounting
& Finance/BA Micro Finance management/BA entrepreneurship development
/ BA. Economics or their equivalent qualifications from a recognized
university / institution. Possession of a post graduate qualification or
professional accounting qualification in a relevant field will be an added
advantage. - One year of experience in administration, management,
micro-finance, finance management, SACCO business environment, while working
with a reputable public or private commercial organization or in the
cooperative sector. - Good computer skills (preferably Microsoft
Office Applications). - Proven ability to work on own initiative as
well as supervision of a team; - Capacity to establish credibility, trust and
partnership. - Excellent analytical and problem – solving
skills. - Excellent interpersonal skills;
- Good communication and report writing skills.
- Integrity and honesty.
