affiliated to the Planning, Development and Rehabilitation Department. It was
created to generate income to sustain socio-economic development efforts of the
Church of Uganda.
Job Summary: The Business Development Manager will manage Kanisa
Procurement Services Ltd (KPS)’s business.  The incumbent will identify and solicit
business opportunities for KPS. The jobholder will also provide leadership to
the investment and resource management functions of KPS.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
1. Business Development:
  • Develop company long and short-term business
    plans
  • Grow and expand company businesses
  • Build new partnerships
  • The jobholder will also locate and propose
    new business deals by contacting potential clients; discover and explore
    new opportunities
  • Screen and analyze new potential business
    engagements
2. Financial Management:
  • Oversee the financial management .planning,
    systems and controls of the company
  • The incumbent will develop annual budgets and
    work plans for the company
  • Carry-out budget performance and cash-flow
    supervision
  • Mobilize financial resources for the company
  • Develop long-term financial forecasts and
    plans
  • Provide monthly, quarterly, bi-annual and
    annual financial reports to the Board of Directors
  • Ensure monthly activity and bank
    reconciliations
  • Ensure remittance of statutory returns in a
    timely manner
  • Ensure readiness of books of accounts for
    both internal and external audits.
3. Organizational
leadership:
  • Provide day-to-day leadership for the company
  • Significantly contribute to organizational
    plans and strategies geared towards operational excellence
  • Provide consulting services on matters of
    fundraising, tax, insurance and business development
  • Be a member of the PDR management team
  • Improve operational systems, processes and
    policies in line with Church of Uganda Vision, Mission, Core Values and
    policies
4. Risk Management:
  • Ensure the company undertakes relevant insurances
    and safeguards against various risks
  • Serve as the primary liaison to legal counsel
    in addressing legal matters e.g. copyright, antitrust, governing
    instruments, partnerships, licenses etc.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant should hold a University degree
    in Commerce/Business Studies / Accounting /Finance /Sales and Marketing
  • A minimum of three years of related work experience
    at middle management level
  • This position requires an individual who is
    knowledgeable and experienced in business development and financial
    management, a team player, decision maker, able to work under tight
    deadlines with minimum supervision, computer literate, able to demonstrate
    a high level of integrity, professionalism and good management skills.
  • Broad background and work experience in
    Financial Management
  • Knowledge of contract management
  • Tax knowledge
  • The applicant must be a practicing and
    committed Christian to Church of Uganda values
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal
    skills
  • Good networking, marketing and negotiation
    skills
  • Computer skills and knowledge of accounting
    packages
