Collections Ltd is the leading debt collection agency and credit consultancy
firm in Uganda, offering services mainly to Commercial Banks, Government and
Corporate Institutions.
Job Summary: The General Manager will be tasked with planning,
directing and managing the Company’s operations. The jobholder will also give strategic
direction to the Board of Directors. The incumbent will also ensure the Company
achieves its vision, mission and upholds its values whilst expanding the
Company’s revenue/ income through strategic networks.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
Business Strategic
Planning:
  • Responsible for the development and
    implementation of a Business Strategic Plan
  • In charge of the establishment of a corporate
    governance system
  • Increase Senior Management Team’s
    effectiveness
Support Human Resources
Department:
  • Drive and Manage Change
  • Ensure compliance of the local labour laws
    & regulations
  • Staff Development Planning
Financial Management
& Reporting:
  • Responsible for income and cost Management
  • Manage profitability
  • In charge of budgeting and cash flow
    management
Operational Planning:
  • Enforcement of operational planning
  • In charge of portfolio reporting
  • Software implementation and supervision
Marketing & Public
Relations:
  • Client Relationship Management
  • Brand promotion
  • Support new product development
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant should hold a Bachelor’s Degree
    in Law, Economics, Business Administration, Commerce or a related field.
    Possession of a Master’s Degree in Business Administration will be an
    added advantage.
  • Additional qualifications in Credit
    Administration, Banking, Strategic Planning, Human Resources, Marketing
    desirable.
  • At least eight years working experience at
    Management level in the financial services industry preferably in the
    Credit Administration Department, Debt Collection & Recovery
    Department or financial consultancy
  • Ability to develop and implement operational
    procedures
  • Ability to influence the behaviors of others
    to achieve
  • Ability to build and capitalize on a wide
    network of contacts
  • The applicant should have the capability to grow
    existing revenue streams and develop new ones
  • In charge of process improvement and
    corporate governance
  • Possess good leadership and interpersonal
    skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good presentation skills
