knowledgeable individual as a 
Dredger Operator for our client.
Job Summary: The Dredger Operator will operate dredge to remove
sand, gravel, or other materials from lakes, rivers, or streams; and to
excavate and maintain navigable channels in waterways.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Direct or assist workers placing shore
    anchors and cables, laying additional pipes from dredges to shore, and
    pumping water from pontoons.
  • Lower anchor poles to verify depths of
    excavations, using winches, or scan depth gauges to determine depths of
    excavations.
  • Move levers to position dredges for
    excavation, to engage hydraulic pumps, to raise and lower suction booms,
    and to control rotation of cutter heads.
  • The jobholder will pump water to clear
    machinery pipelines.
  • Start power winches that draw in or let out
    cables to change positions of dredges, or pull in and let out cables
    manually.
  • Start and stop engines to operate equipment.
  • Determines extent of correction and exposure
    length needed based on experience or predetermined exposure and color
    charts.
  • Prepares dyes and other chemical solutions
    according to standard and applies solution to inaccurately colored areas
    of film to correct color by chemical method.
  • Blocks out or modifies color shades of film,
    using template, brushes, and opaque.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant should hold a Diploma in
    Mechanical Engineering required;
  • At least two (2) to five (5) years of related
    experience;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Proven ability to obtain results through
    others, and to lead
  • Effective oral and written communication
    skills
