they can solve their concerns themselves.
Job Summary: The Data Clerk will mentor two health centres in
proper capture and management of data for HIS and HMIS collected from health
facilities and communities. The incumbent will also provide support to the
staff Data Management in entry, cleaning and analysis of data captured by the
HIS and HMIS and subsequently providing a report.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:  
  • Records keeping and filing of medical records
    for easier retrieval.
  • Ensure that all records, registration books,
    forms, cards and all HIS and HMIS tools are in stock.
  • Ensure that all data is being entered in the
    records books in all departments.
  • Actively participate in quality assurance
  • Collect and processes all health data and
    makes due report on them and ensure feedback report to departments
  • Keep all relevant health records
  • Retrieves records/information for authorised health
    workers and researchers.
  • Ensure confidentiality and safety of records.
  • Take part in research activities.
  • Compile and submit periodic reports.
  • Ensures that essential equipment and other
    supplies are well maintained and safe.
  • Adhere to professional code of conduct and
    ethics.
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned
    from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:  
  • The applicant should hold a Bachelor’s Degree
    in Information technology or a related field.
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in data
    management and analysis in a busy setting
  • Previous exposure and experience in settings
    of Primary Health Care, HIV, Nutrition and Reproductive Health is an added
    advantage
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Computer knowledge and skills
  • Knowledge of Health Information System
  • High degree of accuracy
  • Ability for team work
  • Good understanding of Health Information
    Systems
