Tours is a receptive tour operator that provides package safari tours and
inbound transportation to foreign travellers visiting East Africa. We also
provide and administer study abroad programs for high school and university
students from international institutions.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:  
  • The Reservations Manager will be tasked with
    dealing with customer enquiries and communicating with clients with the
    aim of meeting their expectations.
  • Researches and books flights, ground
    transportation, hotel, excursions and provides travelers with directions
    and destination information
  • In charge of planning and costing complicated
    travel itineraries
  • Providing general and specific advice on
    destinations, resorts, airline companies and a wide range of travel
    products
  • Work closely with suppliers such as ground
    transport operators to make suitable arrangements
  • Building, strengthening and maintaining
    relationships with Industry partners
  • Creating and maintaining relevant records
  • Financial management of accounts and cash
    flow. Invoicing of clients and controlling expenditure
  • Performing general administrative tasks
  • Dealing with and documenting complaints in an
    efficient and diplomatic manner
  • Supervising and evaluating performance of
    staff
  • Formulating and implementing organizational
    policies and procedures
  • Planning and supporting sales and marketing
    activities
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:  
  • The applicant for the Reservations Manager career
    opportunity should hold a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration,
    Commerce, Travel and Tourism Management or any other related field.
  • Working knowledge and experience in the tour
    and travel industry
  • Working knowledge and experience in
    operations and business management
  • Knowledge and experience in financial &
    accounting practices
  • Knowledge and experience in sales and
    marketing concepts is an added advantage
  • Knowledge and experience in Air Ticketing and
    GDS knowledge is an added advantage
  • Display initiative and ownership and
    capability of making sound judgments
  • Demonstrate proactive and can-do solution
    driven approaches
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Innovation and energy with the desire to
    drive others
  • Excellent command of both written and spoken
    English
  • Passionate interest in geography, strong
    domestic and international travel knowledge
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication
    skills
  • Skills to persuade customers and influence
    their decisions, both for their own benefit and that of the agency
  • Ability to multitask
  • Proficient IT skills
