About Us:
The Uganda Energy Credit Capitalisation Company (UECCC) is in place to
facilitate investments in Uganda’s high potential renewable energy sector.
UECCC’s mandate is to provide a reliable framework for pooling resources from
Government, Investors and Development Partners and to channel the same to
viable renewable energy projects.
Job Summary: The Manager,
Finance and Administration will be in charge of ensuring proper financial
management and accountability for the resources of UECCC and the general
administration of the Company.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • Provide strategic and operational
    direction to the Finance and Administration Unit;
  • Supervise the UECCC’s day to day financial
    and budgeting process;
  • Ensure preparation of Funds requisitions
    to Government of Uganda, World Bank and other Development Partners based
    on agreed work plans;
  • The incumbent will manage the preparation
    of books of accounts in accordance with Government of Uganda, World Bank
    and other Development Partner Accounting procedures;
  • Manage the Company’s project special
    accounts and local accounts under various programmes;
  • Keenly review and update the Accounting
    and Financial Reporting System of the Company;
  • Establish and improve upon the existing
    internal controls and procedures;
  • Manage key financial relationships with
    stakeholders including external auditors and bankers among others;
  • Spearhead the corporation’s long-term
    financial planning process;
  • Manage tax planning and compliance review
    exercises; 
  • Process all financial transactions of the
    Company and ensure proper accountabilities from recipients;
  • Provide leadership and performance
    management support to the finance and administration team, including
    annual review of the team’s performance.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate should hold a
    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or Commerce from a recognized
    institution;
  • Membership to a professional body (ACC A,
    CIMA, CPA, ACA, CFA);
  • Possession of a Master’s Degree in
    Accounting, Finance or Business Administration will be an added advantage;
  • A minimum of eight years of working
    experience in a Government aided, Donor Funded or a large corporate
    organization with at least three (03) years at management level;
  • Experience in public sector accounting and
    management of donor financial reporting regulations and systems. The World
    Bank Financial Management system and procedures will be an added
    advantage;
  • A demonstrable background of professional
    and strategic leadership, highly motivated and a committed team player;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication
    skills;
  • Computer literacy skills and knowledge of
    computer accounting packages will be an added advantage.
