About US:
Sasakawa Africa Association (SAA/SG2000) is an international non-profit
organization that promotes demonstration and widespread adoption of improved
pre and post-production agricultural technologies for smallholder farmers in
Uganda in collaboration with relevant government institutions, farmers’
organizations and the private sector.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • Support the Thematic Co-ordinator in
    planning and budgeting;
  • Strengthen the capacity of farmer based
    organizations (FBOs) in organisational management and leadership;
  • Strengthen the Village Savings and loan
    schemes (VSLAs) among FBOs and monitor their performance
  • Guide development of viable commodity
    business plans among FBOs
  • Develop and maintain linkages between and among Farmers/FBOs /processors/
    small & medium enterprises (SMEs) to finance institutions, inputs and
    output markets
  • Establish, maintain and manage a database
    on public private partnerships (PPP)
  • Ensure regular communication/coordination
    and exchange of experiences between Farmers/ FBO and key actors along the
    value chain.
  • Offer technical support to SG2000 Program
    in gender mainstreaming
  • Prepare activity and periodic progress
    reports
  • Any other related duties assigned.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate should preferably hold
    a BSc Agri-business, Rural Development, Agriculture extension or any other
    related field;
  • At least five years of relevant
    experience.
  • Skills in the development of training
    modules/manuals, agribusiness plans, training, facilitation and
    presentation.
