Job Summary: The Market
Linkages Officer will organise farmers, link them to local markets and build
the capacity of the leadership and management teams of FOs, SCPs and small
groups of ART and pregnant mothers in marketing. The Market Linkages Officer
will provide market linkage services to FOs, SCPs and small groups of ART and
pregnant mothers.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • Plan,
    conduct and lead market analysis for commodities and value chains promoted
    by FOs, SCPs and small groups of ART and pregnant mothers.
  • Nurture
    a functional market information system (MIS) for value chains promoted by
    FOs, SCPs and small groups of ART and pregnant mothers.
  • Link
    up FOs, SCPs and small groups of ART and pregnant mothers to meaningful
    markets.
  • Actively
    participate in conducting weekly and monthly assessments on prices for
    value chains promoted by FOs, SCPs and small groups of ART and pregnant
    mothers.
  • Provide
    market mentorship to FOs, SCPs and small groups of ART and pregnant mothers.
  • Activate
    and use effective and efficient MIS channels especially radio and the SMS
    platform.
  • The
    Market Linkages Officer
    will link the FOs, SCPs and small groups of ART and pregnant mothers to
    sources of credit.
  • Preparing
    and submitting activity reports in line with the organisation and donor
    requirements/compliance standards.
  • Conduct
    audit and stock counts for value chains at SCPs and home grown stores of
    FOs, SCPs and small groups of ART and pregnant mothers.
  • Perform
    any other roles as assigned by the Project Team Leader.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The
    Market Linkages Officers must hold Degrees in BBA, Social Sciences, Marketing. Post graduate
    qualifications in business and Management.
  • Previous
    exposure and experience in marketing.
  • At
    least three years of professional working in the similar environment.
  • Experience and skills in setting, managing and achieving
    targets in marketing.
  • Previous
    experience in managing teams.
  • Preferred
    experience in Fast Moving and Consumer Goods.
  • Good
    business and marketing skills
  • Good
    planning and communication skills
  • Capacity
    to undertake multiple assignments
