AIDS Information Centre (AIC) is a national Non-Governmental
Organization committed to improving the quality of life of orphans and other
vulnerable children. AIC works with other service providers to ensure access to
high quality HIV Counseling and Testing (HCT) services and information. AIC
offers HCT services, SMC, HIV Care & Support, Sexual Reproductive Health
services, BCC, Capacity Building and Development through 9 main branches,
selected hospitals, health centers and antenatal clinics.

Job Summary: The Manager
Care Services will provide technical support and guidance to the AIC staff and
other associated persons who provide care services in the AIC regions, so as to
ensure that the services are in accordance with established polices and
standards.

Responsibilities:

- Formulate policies, strategies and
guidelines on AIC care services as necessary - Prepare plans and budgets for care support
services - Prepare proposals for external support to
AIC on care services - Provide technical guidance on the
procurement and utilisation of medical and laboratory supplies and
equipment - Provide technical advice on the medical
and laboratory supplies and equipment required for the effective provision
of care services - Ensure arrangements are made for obtaining
the resources required for the provision of care support services by
headquarters personnel - Ensure arrangements are made for availing
medical supplies and equipment as required - Ensure care services at the AIC regional
clinics and communities are well-coordinated - Provide technical supporton sensitisation
campaigns for care services - Advise provided on standards, policies,
mechanisms and procedures for care services - Quality care services ensured, in
accordance with established standards, policies and procedures - Technical support, training and up-to-date
information provided to the medical and laboratory personnel in the
regions - Regional clinics fully functional and
adequately equipped and supported - Provide technical support in the appraisal
of the performance of medical and laboratory personnel in the regions - Provide technical advice to AIC senior
management on the numbers and qualities of the human resources required
for care services - Ensure that all action points arising from
monitoring and evaluation exercises are identified and followed up - Ensure that new programs for AIC in the
area of care are identified and related proposals and plans developed - Partnerships beneficial to AIC in the area
of care identified - Send reports on the technical support and
guidance provided to the regions on medical and laboratory services
regularly to top management
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The ideal candidate for this vacancy
should preferably hold a first Degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBChB); - Training in HIV/AIDS Prevention and Care
- Training in Management
- At least six years’ experience in clinical
work; with at least three years at managerial level - Previous experience in HIV/AIDS care
- Knowledge of HIV/AIDS prevention and care
issues - Rights of people living with HIV/AIDS
- Knowledge of research methods – both
quantitative and qualitative - Good management and organisational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal
skills - Good counselling skills
- Computer skills
