About SIAP Project:
ZOA Uganda has been contracted to implement a 4 year project in the
West Nile Region of Uganda, particularly in the districts of Arua, Moyo,
Koboko, Nebbi and Zombo. The project’s title is, “Front a quality culture in
the application and delivery of agro inputs to sustainably intensify
agricultural production in West Nile sub-region. (SIAP – West Nile).” The
project is business orientated and aims at strengthening the value chains of
sesame, onions, cabbages and tomatoes to increase productivity, build quality
input use and ultimately ensure expanded market access to commercially based
small-holder farmers in West Nile sub-region.

Job Summary: The Project
Manager (PM) will lead the implementation of the project on behalf of ZOA,
providing leadership to the project and its activities, overseeing smooth
implementation of the project, and will provide strategic leadership in
Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning. The Manager of this
multi-disciplinary project must be able to combine government interaction,
private sector participation and agricultural production (including producer
organization support), within a very strong business orientated mindset.
Manager (PM) will lead the implementation of the project on behalf of ZOA,
providing leadership to the project and its activities, overseeing smooth
implementation of the project, and will provide strategic leadership in

Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, manage and implement activities
in the project - Work in liaison with and set-up formal
business arrangements with private sector partners - Liaise closely with local government and
other stakeholders - Ensure monitoring and reporting of
projects in line with stringent
donor requirements - As
budget holder be responsible for financial cash flow planning and
expenditure monitoring, - Supervise and cooperate with external
project implementing partner - Motivate, stimulate and supervise staff
- Ensure synergy with other similar projects
and initiatives within the area of operation. - Contribute to the preparation and planning
of other ZOA projects, proposals and actions.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The ideal candidate should preferably hold
a Master’s degree in livelihoods, agriculture, business or other relevant
field - A minimum of five years of experience in
multi-year project management. - A minimum of two years’ experience in
working for or with an agricultural oriented private sector player - The Project Manager (PM) should have strong
experience in business development, local government interaction and
preferably NGO project cycle management - Proven leadership qualities with effective
external and internal coordination skills - Self motivator, having the ability to work
with limited supervision - Proven report writing and M&E skills
- The successful candidate will have a
mature personality who is able to integrate and express Christian values
in rehabilitation work - Excellent command of English
