About US:
Protecting Families Against HIV/AIDS (PREFA) is an indigenous Non-Governmental
Organization (NGO) that was formed to contribute to Uganda’s efforts in
enhancing access to quality HIV/AIDS prevention, care, treatment, and support
services to families with a historical focus on Elimination of Mother-to-Child
Transmission (eMTCT) of HIV. PREFA has expanded her efforts to improving
acceptable and sustainable Sexual Reproductive Health Services and Child
Protection Programs (CSEC). Funding is from Centre for Disease, UKAid, Terre
des Homme Netherlands (TDH-NL) and Girls’ Advocacy Alliance (GAA).

Job Summary: The Program
Officer will provide technical support and guidance in the planning, implementation
as well as monitoring and evaluation of Sexual & Reproductive Health,
HIV/AIDS (with focus on eMTCT) & other activities relating to HIV/TB in the
targeted districts.

- Ensure health facilities are equipped to
provide quality, comprehensive and effective SRH & HIV/AIDS related services. - Ensure increased access to quality SRH
& HIV/AIDS services, especially targeting. - Ensure increased demand for high quality,
comprehensive eMTCT/SRH services - Ensure increased community participation
in the eMTCT/SRH related activities at Community and Health Facility
level. - Prepare timely and cost-effective work
plans submitted to PREFA & shared with the relevant stakeholders. - M&E Function: Accurate & timely
reporting, Data Quality Assessment & performance monitoring. - Effective coordination mechanism with
various stakeholders.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor’s
Degree in Medicine and Surgery or Nursing and a Masters in Public Health
or Health Services Research or Health Services Management - A minimum of five years’ experience
working with government structures, specifically district health systems. - Previous experience in the area of technical
assistance for health systems strengthening for SRH and HIV/AIDS service
delivery.
