• Oversee
  the process of identifying and assessing the risks affecting the
  organization in order to develop risk mitigation, adequately plan
  risk responses and monitoring strategies for the organization’s risks.
• Guide
  management on integration of risk management into business operations and
  their roles in making it work.
• Develop
  and recommend Organization risk management objectives in order to
  ensure integration with the organization business strategy.
• Establish,
  communicate and facilitate the use of appropriate organization risk
  management methodologies, tools and techniques to ensure effective
  risk management in UNBS.
• Regularly
  monitor, evaluate and challenge the organization’s success in
  managing its risks in order to develop and continuously review risk
  management capabilities.
• The incumbent will also ensure appropriate risk reporting by
  compiling, consolidating and submitting to the Supervisor, periodic
  reports from business units on internal control performance i.e. monthly,
  quarterly and annually.
• Carry
  out risk management training and awareness programs organization wide in
  order to increase risk awareness across the organization.
• Recommend
  independent views by identifying and planning for possible risks on
  proposed business plans and transactions in order to ensure proper
  oversight.
• Ensure
  compliance with and regular review of risk policy in order to have relevant
  and up to date risk policies and ensure an effective risk
  management framework.
• Actively
  facilitate the annual updates of the Risk Management processes and for
  quarterly computing and reporting of key risk indicators.
• Formulate
  and maintain an updated UNBS risk register.

• The applicant for the UNBS Principal Risk
  Officer job placement should hold a Master’s degree in Business Management, Accounting, Finance,
  Actuarial Sciences or any other related qualification from a
  recognized University/Institution
• Possession
  of an Honor’s Degree in Business Studies, Accounting, Finance, Actuarial
  Sciences or any other related qualification from a recognized
  University/Institution
• Professional
  Certification in the relevant fields
• At
  least three years of significant experience to International Risk
  management standards and best practices
• Highly
  conversant with Risk Analysis Computer Applications.
• At
  least eight years’ working experience, five of which should be in risk
  management in a reputable organisation.
• Hands-on
  supervisory competencies with capacity to multi-task and deliver
  results efficiently with minimal supervision
• Proven
  people leadership and functional management competencies with hands-on
  skills in Risk Management and internal controls in the functional
  areas
• Impeccable level of integrity, professionalism, teamwork and
  analytical skills with good communication and presentation skills.
• High
  regard for quality control, attention to detail, ability to maintain
  confidentiality and ability to understand broad business issues
• Age: Between 30 and 45 years
