Job Summary: The
Relationship Manager – Trade Finance will be mainly responsible ffor
progressing finance options geared to assist both importers and exporters in
reducing the payment risk associated with international trade. The role
involves looking after an existing portfolio of clients, developing a new suite
of trade finance products and seeking opportunities to grow the Bank.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • Define and execute an operational plan to
    support the department’s overall business strategies while delivering
    targets oh trade finance transaction volume growth, fees/ commission and
    interest income.
  • Formulate and deliver a sales strategy and
    secure strategic internal support from stakeholders; in conjunction with
    the trade back office operations in order to identify and satisfy customer
    needs and to achieve revenue and asset growth/ asset quality targets,
  • Proactively manage trade relationships
    within the portfolio of existing and agreed target clients in order to
    develop structure and review proposals that meet customer requirements.
  • The incumbent will prepare Trade Cycle
    Analysis papers (TCAs) and provide input to credit applications in
    conjunction with Relationship Teams, aligned with defined strategy and
    engage with colleagues in marketing, sales, credit and risk as
    appropriate.
  • Maintain a well selected target market,
    the prospects of which will constantly feed into the Bank’s trade finance
    deal pipeline.
  • Provide trade finance advisory to the
    relationship management teams across the Bank’s network, clients and
    whenever required as a product specialist,
  • Carry out onboarding, KYC reviews and
    annual credit reviews on the Bank’s trade finance clients to ensure compliance
    to internal and regulatory standards.
  • Working closely with the Head Office teams
    to develop and cross-sell new trade products and programs while
    continually keeping abreast of the development of new products and changes
    to legislations (local and international) relevant to trade finance
    products.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The ideal candidate for the Housing
    Finance Bank Relationship Manager – Trade Finance career opportunity must
    hold a University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration,
    Economics or a comparable field of study from a recognized institution.
  • Trade Finance professional qualification
    is an added advantage
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of Trade
    finance products and a broad range of Transaction Banking products,
  • A minimum of five years’ experience
    working within the commercial Banking industry in a Trade Sales role.
  • Proficiency in the preparation and
    presentation of business proposals for new clients to highlight the key
    areas of the trade finance business, using common workplace applications.
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of the
    regulatory framework covering the Trade Finance environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication
    skills relationship management skills
