operations. Kakira Sugar is owned by the Madhavani Group and it is extracted
from cane grown on lush plantations on the shores of Lake Victoria. The sweet,
sparkling crystals with their distinctive taste and flavour, and rich golden
colour, have sweetened dishes all over Uganda since the 1930s.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Tasked with planning and managing mechanical
    aspects of the project.
  • Responsible for monitoring the progress of
    the project.
  • Implementing and documenting execution of
    the project; reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • In charge of coordinating all project work
    with various sections and departments.
  • Interacting with Consultants and
    Contractors and liaising with suppliers.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate should preferably hold
    a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering obtained from a recognised
    institution.
  • Skills and experience with a high pressure
    boiler, steam turbine/power generation, water treatment system and Cane
    sugar milling & processing.
