About US:
War Child Holland (WCH) is an international non-governmental
organization investing in a peaceful future for children and young people
affected by armed conflict. Since 2004, War Child Holland has been working in
Uganda and currently operates in Acholi and Holland Lango. WCH is starting an
ECHO-funded project in Adjumani. The project follows an integrated approach to
resilience and well-being, providing a combination of activities across the
levels of the Mental Health Pyramid. Recreational activities will facilitate
identification and referral to mental health and psychosocial support services,
including life-skills workshops, counselling, case management and legal support
for SGBV survivors.
Job Summary: The Project
Coordinator (PC) will oversee the activities of the 3 partners in this project
(WCH, War Child Canada and TPO).
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • Takes lead of the roll-out of the project
    in close cooperation with the 3 partners.
  • Ensures high quality implementation and
    reporting.
  • Ensures proper monitoring, evaluation and
    accountability of the activity progress.
  • Ensures War Child core principles are
    integrated into all project activities.
  • Ensure adherence to minimal standards of
    PSS support
  • Manages, coaches and builds competency of
    staff.
  • Keenly monitors the assigned budget and
    makes ensures administrative procedures are followed Represents WCH at all
    local, working groups & communities level.
  • Works closely with government
    institutions, UN, (i) NGO’s and other partners in Adjumani.
  • Ensures adherence to security policies/
    procedures.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s
    Degree in Community Development, Psychology, Social Sciences or relevant
    fields
  • At least five years’ experience in
    managing projects focusing on PSS, mental health, GBV, child protection.
  • Knowledge of the dynamics in context of
    the West Nile Region including the refugee settlements.
  • Previous exposure and experience with
    community-based programming preferred, team work & partnership work.
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of
    Protection, Gender, SRH, livelihoods and child rights.
  • Strong social and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated people management skills,
    cultural sensitivity
  • Willingness to work/live in remote areas.
  • Familiarity with ECHO guidelines is
    desirable.
  • Fluency in English, preferably able to
    speak; Madi, Arabic, Aringa, Luo or Kiswahili.
