About Us:
The Uganda National Oil Company Limited (UNOC) was established under
Section 42 of the Petroleum (Exploration, Development and Production) Act 2013
and incorporated under the Company’s Act 2012. It is a limited liability
company wholly owned by the Government of Uganda. The overall function of UNOC
is; “To handle the State’s Commercial interests in the Oil and Gas industry.”

Job Summary: The Business
Planning and Performance Specialist will be responsible for supporting strategic
and tactical planning, risk management, business integration (UNOC, UNOC
Subsidiaries and non-operated assets), management reporting, and also act as a
critical interface between UNOC functions and UNOC subsidiaries planning
functions.

Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- The jobholder will prepare the annual
business plan in cooperation with the various functions within UNOC and
its subsidiaries - Assist in the tracking and delivery of
UNOC company objectives including capturing and reporting of data on key
performance indicators (KPIs) - Responsible for business analysis
including review and challenge of financial models - Closely monitor progress of the Company
performance in delivery of the Balanced Scorecard on behalf of the CFO - Safe guard company information through
proper execution of information control policies, procedures and guidelines - Prepare accurately and on a timely basis
Management reports in the agreed formats. - Coordinate the periodic budget revision
process with - Ensure performance against budgets
variance reports are prepared on a regular and timely basis and that there
is adequate performance monitoring. - Provide Finance input in Capital
Expenditure (Capex) projects evaluations and ensure sound financial
evaluations are done in line with the Capital Investment Proposal
Guidelines.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The applicant should preferably hold a
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting or
Economics or any other relevant degree - Professional Membership (ACCA, CPA, CMA)
- A minimum of eight to ten years of working
experience in a busy organisation - Must also demonstrate exceptionally strong
analytical skills, having an ability to analyse, refine, summarize, and
clearly present data and information. - Knowledge of Integrated Planning and
strong budgeting skills - High degree of professionalism and maintenance
of confidentiality - Excellent IT skills with a good
understanding of MS applications - Extensive knowledge of Oil & Gas
Operations. - Proven skills in personal effectiveness
- Broad knowledge and understanding of Joint
Venture Operations - Fluency in spoken/written English.
