Job Summary: The Resilience
Coordinator will be responsible for Disaster Risk Reduction/Climate Change and
Adaptation (DRR/CCA)] contributes to Save the Children’s capacity to integrate
resilience building in it’s programme and improving children’s rights, through
support to DRR/CCA programme review, planning, implementation and MEAL. The
incumbent is also directly responsible for designing new project proposals and
support field staff to implement quality resilience building projects. The job
holder also contributes to strengthening staff and partners’ capacity for
child-centred DRR/CCA interventions. S/he is also responsible for ensuring that
quality programme are initiated and capacities developed to provide and
effectively mainstream child-centred DRR/CCA in humanitarian and development
context. The job holder may be called upon as and when necessary to support the
emergency team in cases of humanitarian crisis.

Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Save the
Children International Resilience Coordinator job placement should
preferably hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Social sciences, Environmental
Management Science or Agriculture or equivalent qualification in
development practice, international relations, health, natural resource
management, engineering, or other relevant social science or comparable
field experience. - A minimum of four years’ experience in
DRR/CCA assessments and designing of programme interventions is essential. - Significant programme management
experience working in an emergency response contexts - Previous experience in risk-based
approaches to DRR/CCA and community based Adaptation - Previous experience in people and project
management - Demonstrated ability to write clear and
well-argued analytical reports and preparing successful funding proposals
for donors and management of the grants. - Ability to achieve results and maintain
consistent high standards of professional behavior and achievement,
including when working alone. - Past exposure and experience of working
with local partners and District Local Government in Child Rights
Governance, Health, Nutrition, Education, HIV/AIDS or Child Protection is
an added advantage. - Excellent analytical skills and strategic
planning abilities. - Ability to establish and maintain
conducive collegial relations and perform effectively as a member of a
team. - Computer literacy and excellent
documentation skills are a must. - Willingness to travel and work in
hard-to-reach areas, occasionally under strenuous conditions. - Availability and willingness to work extra
hours during times of humanitarian responses. - Highly developed cultural awareness and
ability to work well in an international environment with people from
diverse backgrounds and cultures. - Ability to intervene with crisis
management or troubleshooting as necessary. - Exceptional interpersonal and
communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching. - Excellent time management and planning
capacity. - Availability and willingness to work extra
hours during times of humanitarian responses.
