Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • The Senior Laboratory Officer will collect
    and sample all fuel products coming into the depot for purposes of testing
    for quality, regulatory and environmental adherence.
  • The incumbent will also coordinate and
    oversee the monthly testing and sampling at all storage locations.
  • Manage stocks of tested samples and ensure
    that they go through the validation process.
  • Prepare for Laboratory and HSE Management
    audits and close findings effectively.
  • Prepare and send daily, weekly and monthly
    laboratory reports.
  • Keenly monitor and oversee the maintenance
    of laboratory equipment.
  • Constantly monitor and ensure the
    implementation of HSE Management Systems in the laboratory.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The ideal candidates for the TOTAL Senior
    Laboratory Officer job opportunity must hold a  Bachelor of Science in Chemistry,
    Chemical Process Engineering, Industrial Chemistry or an equivalent tertiary
    qualification in natural sciences
  • A minimum of three years’ experience
    preferably in a petrochemical laboratory
  • Demonstrate unquestionable integrity in
    every aspect of work and dealing with others
  • Should have basic computer skills to
    interpret and analyze data, compile results and prepare reports
  • Supervisory experience in a plant or
    Laboratory setting with good understanding of the Safety Procedures is an
    added advantage.
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision
    with a strict adherence to set deadlines demonstrating accuracy and rigour
    in tasks assigned
