Job Summary:   The HR Manager will manage the people agenda
of the hospitality business. The role reports to the General Manager and is in
charge of various outlets across Kampala as well as a Safari lodge.

Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
Staffing:
  • Recruit reliable candidates with customer
    service aptitude
  • Ensure fair distribution of workload
    around inexperienced and skilled staff
  • Manpower planning by anticipating the
    number of people the business requires and when
  • Manage and schedule leave plans of the
    employees
Training:
  • Ensure thorough on boarding and
    orientation of new hires
  • Formulate and implement a training plan
    for the business
  • Provide continuous training in various
    areas especially Supervisory skills training for managers, customer
    service training for the waiters and other relevant trainings
Employee Relations:
  • Ensure a safe work environment at the
    business premises and civil works sites at all times
  • Engage employees, providing opportunities
    for them to grow and develop
  • Take action on customer feedback
  • Maintain discipline amongst the staff and
    handle grievances effectively
Risk Management:
  • Ensure compliance and enforcement of the
    labour law especially regarding pay and break periods
  • Ensure adherence to organisational
    policies and procedures
  • Maintain immigration compliance regarding
    any expatriate staff
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s
    Degree with a post graduate Diploma/Certificate in HR Management (Added
    advantage)
  • Additional certificate in Health and
    Safety – Desired
  • A minimum of three years’ experience HR in
    a busy environment
  • Good training skills
  • Hold a valid and clean driving Licence
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft word
    and excel
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Sound Judgement
  • High degree of integrity
  • Highly proactive
  • Outgoing personality
