Job Summary: The Compliance
Manager will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a framework to
ensure compliance with applicable financial institution regulatory requirements
and internal compliance policies and procedures so as to protect the reputation
of the institution and avoid financial loss.

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- The
incumbent will identify and assess the compliance risk associated
with the institution’s current and proposed future business activities,
including new products, systems, new business relationships and any
extension of operations or network on an international level; - Identify
and keep an inventory available to all staff of essential laws and
regulation; internal policies, manuals, guidelines and procedures
pertinent to the organization; - Manage
the identification and reporting of any significant regulatory compliance
breaches or gaps. - Assess
the appropriateness of internal policies, procedures and
guidelines, ensure a follow-up of any identified deficiencies, make
recommendations for amendments, where necessary, and supervise the
implementation of corrective measure to mitigate the identified
deficiencies; - Keenly
monitor compliance with internal policies, procedures and guidelines
across all business units by performing regular and comprehensive
compliance risk assessment and testing; report the results on a regular
basis and promptly where deemed necessary to executive management
and, if necessary, the Board of Directors; - Train/educate
all staff with respect to compliance with the applicable laws, rules and
standards and act as advisor on compliance queries from staff members; - Oversee
the development of an effective internal compliance culture by
promoting the benefits of ethical business conduct and the benefits of
compliance. - Work
closely with the relevant external bodies and regulators on compliance
matters; exercise any specific legal responsibilities such as reporting
suspicious transactions related to money laundering and the fight against
terrorism financing; - Establish
and / or supervise appropriate compliance checks and controls. - Develop
and maintain an effective support mechanism to enable closure of all
compliance related exceptions raised within the institution - Formulate
an annual work plan. - Implement
risk / compliance monitoring tools / maps including activities,
triggers, probability and actions. - Oversee
the implementation of effective internal controls and ensure that these
are adhered to at all times.

Experience:

Administration or a business related field. - At
least three to five years’ experience in banking or related financial
institution with experience particularly in compliance - Broad
knowledge and understanding of laws and regulations governing
financial institutions - A
good understanding of policies, processes, procedures and controls of
financial institutions - Energetic
and ability to be active throughout and willingness to learn - High
level of honesty, integrity and confidentiality - Possess
excellent communication skills and high level of customer care
