Established in January 2015, the Uganda National Renewable Energy and
Energy Efficiency Alliance (UNREEEA) was formed by the renewable energy and
energy efficiency (RE&EE) private sector associations in order to
consolidate their position and leadership role within the sector. With a
composition of the Biomass Energy Efficient Technologies Association (BEETA),
the Uganda National Biogas Alliance (UNBA), the Hydropower Association of
Uganda (HPAU), the Energy Efficiency Association of Uganda (EEAU) and Uganda
National Renewable Energy Association (UNREA), the Alliance has a vision of
being the lead alliance in the RE&EE sector of Uganda and East Africa,
partnering with the government, sister associations and other sector
stakeholders.

Job Summary: The Coordinator
will act as the administrative head and focal person of the UNREEEA
secretariat. The incumbent mobilizes and coordinate member, partners, staff and
resources to effectively and successfully conduct the implementation of the
UNREEEA strategic plan

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide oversight over all UNREEEA’s
operational activities including administration, finance, human resource
and communication. - Coordinate the preparation and
implementation of annual work plans and budgets, aligned to the strategic
plan, and advise BOD on all arising operational and strategic issues - Actively identify opportunities and
mobilize financial resources in accordance with the renewable energy
sector priority areas of Uganda and UNREEEA’s strategic plan - Ensure strategic liaisons with potential
donors and partners - Coordinate the implementation of donor
program activities, including preparation of technical and financial
reports as required in the respective grant support agreements - Coordinate the timely preparation of
regular and ad hoc financial, progress and other reports and ensure that
external audits are conducted in time - Give a sense of direction to UNREEEA’s
organizational planning and ensure that realistic targets, programmes, or
projects are set during the planning cycles - Take lead of all the technical work that
is aimed at promoting renewable energy and energy efficiency at
operational level and provides oversight in all planning activities - Manage the recruitment process for all
junior staff in the Secretariat. He will support the Board in preparation
of the terms of reference, advertising, short listing, interviews, and
negotiations and is a signatory to the employment and consultancy
contracts issued by UNREEEA. - Manage the internal team of officers,
assistants, volunteers and consultants as designated by the Board through
the Secretary’s office. S/he is therefore overall responsible and accountable
for the delivery of targets by the various offices under him. - Support the Secretary in organizing
regular and extra ordinary BOD meetings, recording and sharing minutes of
meetings and other fora - Support the Secretary in organizing the
Annual General Meeting - Coordinate the procurement of services and
goods and manage service contracts and joint ventures - Perform any other duties as directed by
the UNREEEA Secretary or BOD
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The ideal candidate should preferably hold
a bachelor’s and preferably a master’s degree from a recognized university
in the fields of; Business Administration, environmental studies, electric
engineering, Project Management, or any other compatible field - At least five years’ experience in
business administration or program coordination; work experience in the
renewable energy will be added advantage - The applicant must be a Ugandan by birth, holding
Ugandan Citizenship, and currently a resident of Uganda - Previous experience in managing a national/international
NGO, IO or Community Organization, or a department/unit of such an
organization - Be an outgoing, communicative and
proactive person, with a strong professional and charismatic vibrancy - Communicate appropriate, clearly and
effectively, with very strong written and oral communication skills in
English - Demonstrate very good skills and
experience in presentation and as speaker and/or moderator - Excellent track record in developing,
maintaining and delivering on resource mobilization - Use his/her private and professional
network to expand effective and productive partnerships and networks for
UNREEEA, focusing on resource mobilization and creating synergies - Proven skills in research and data
management will be an added advantage - Computer literate, including good working
experience in MS office applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint)
is mandatory. Previous experience with any of the following software is an
advantage: M&E and research software/database
