Job Summary: The Warehouse
Assistant will support the United Nations UNICEF officer by taking charge of
the responsibility of receiving, storage and dispatch of all local and offshore
supplies from the UNICEF warehouse.

Responsibilities:

- The incumbent will receive and verify
quantities, and quality of all incoming materials to the warehouse
according to packing lists, waybills and or purchase orders and report
discrepancies if any. Also to
ensure that supplies are appropriately stored for easy identification and
retrieval. - Prepare and submit monthly inventory
reports on stock status: receipts, issues and stock balances by project
and commodity. - The jobholder will also ensure appropriate
stores documentation for receipt and release of materials: stores
requisitions, waybills, delivery notes and to keep record of same. - Compile monthly, debit notes for services
provided by secondary contractors for payment: (ancillary staff etc.) - Carry out periodic physical inventory of
stocks and report discrepancies if any. - Manage the logistics of loading and
unloading supplies for distribution. - Ensure adequate security arrangements are
in place for safety of supplies in the warehouse. - Supervise warehouse clerk and ancillary
staff.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the United Nations
UNICEF Warehouse Assistant job placement should have completed secondary school
education supplemented with a course in stores management. - At least four years working experience in
store keeping in a large organisation. - Familiarity with emergency is considered
an asset. - Good knowledge of English is required.
