Job Summary: The Manager,
Human Resources will assist the Head, Human Resources & Administration in
formulating and proactively facilitating the implementation of appropriate HR
strategies and plans focused on acquiring, developing, motivating and retaining
the best talent within the Bank, as well as co-ordinate and monitor timely and
efficient execution of all HR activities in the Bank.

Key Duties and
Responsibilities:

- As a senior member of the HR team, the job
holder shall support the Head of HR in the development of an annual HR
business plan and in ensuring agreed deliverables are achieved. - Build and maintain close working
relationships with business managers and proactively identify and ensure
prompt response to their HR needs. - Manage the recruitment process of the Bank
- Support the execution of an effective
Performance management process in the Bank by among others ensuring timely
cascade of departmental business plans, design of appropriate KPIs and
performance contracts, administering the Bank’s performance management
& coaching tools and the performance review cycle. - Manage the Bank’s talent management
framework by ensuring that appropriate measures are proactively taken to
maintain a healthy talent pipeline for the Bank, and that identified
internal successors’ have the requisite skills and competencies to assume
critical positions. - Oversee the Bank’s L&D function and
related processes, including facilitating the processes to identify
appropriate training needs for all staff and drawing related budgets;
Plan, implement, evaluate and monitor training in line with the approved
plan to ensure that the Bank’s training and staff development
interventions are properly coordinated and/or managed professionally. The
role holder will also develop, review and maintain training curricula,
content, material documents etc and ensure a well-functioning internal
library. He/she will also support the HHR in identifying strategic
learning partners for the Bank. - Supervise and/or implement the Bank’s
Compensation & Benefits, Wellness and Welfare propositions and ensure
a highly energized and engaged working environment. - Administer the Bank’s HR policies and
processes

Experience:
Experience:
- The
applicant should preferably hold a Master’s degree, with a bias to Human Resources - At least seven years’ experience in Human Resources, with 3 years at senior
management level within a busy commercial environment - Computer
literacy skills - Self-motivated,
strong analytical, organizational and planning skills - Broad
understanding and hands-on experience in HR strategy articulation
and implementation - Ability
to think strategically and holistically and to appreciate the systematic
impact of various policies, practices, issues and solutions - Comprehensive
knowledge of banking industry and appreciation of its operations - In-depth
understanding of the Ugandan society, cultural diversity and regional
nuances - Advanced
knowledge of the Ugandan labour and employment legislation - Good
people management skills - Communication
(oral and written) and Presentation/facilitation skills - Excellent
interpersonal skills - Leadership
capability - Good
problem solving skills
