Job Summary: The Business
Development Manager will mainly be responsible for; pursuing and developing
business develop leads until revenues are grow to significant levels as per the
Strategic plan. He is expected to work very closely with the General manager in
this role to ensure that there is growth and sustainability; both in premium
product range and reputable customer base.

- Develop business plans and strategies that
are aligned to the organizational revenue and sustainability plans - The jobholder will organize and profile
all key accounts and prospective institutional customers for specific
business targeting and management - Prospects, follows up and provide business
deal closes satisfactorily in ways where customers are retained and
services satisfaction levels improved subsequently, and payment are
received on time - Interface and negotiate with prospective
international suppliers to grow the Local Technical Representative (LTR)
premium product range as well as UHMG branded product range - Coordinate the preparation of product
dossiers for registration with the National Regulatory Authority - Coach and mentor Medical Representatives
with the organization - Ensure that all key account requests and
needs are attended to on a timely and professional manner, with feedback
and customer complaints effectively handled. - Take lead of the business plan for the
portfolio, be responsible for achieving the revenue objectives and
appraising the customers per account performance and advising management
on the best way forward - Responsible for budgeting for the revenue
stream, monitoring performances over times, take overall management of the
business portfolio and responsibility for the outcomes - Responsible for preparing tenders and bids
submissions, contract management and any other business related documents
for the portfolio - Act as the link, contact person for the
third party handling businesses and grow the business relationship at
every point of the customers’ accounts - Highly creative, and innovate new ways of
growing and sustaining both the key account relationship and the revenue
stream - Be part of a team that will take business
management of the commercial division to a sustainable level by playing a
role as a management team member. - Carry out market intelligence on UHMG
products and develop strategies for demand creation. - Prepare and submit weekly customer’s
performance issues, prospects and plans of action to the director product
facility - Work closely with and coordinate sales and
distribution of products with General Manager, Warehousing and Operations
Manager, Procurement/supply chain manager to effectively bring about high
revenue returns and increased profitability of the portfolio and for the
whole of UHMG.

- The ideal candidate for the UHMG Business
Development Manager job opportunity should hold a Bachelor’s degree in a
medical related field or in physical sciences subjects with chemistry as
major and with experience in marketing pharmaceutical products as a
Medical Representative for International pharmaceutical companies. Member
of professional marketing body (CIM or others) will be an added advantage.
- A minimum of eight years’ experience in
managing related business with three years at the management level in a
well stratified private commercial organization. - This position requires a person with a
celebrated marketing career in pharmaceutical/medical products, excellent
negotiation skills, sound understating of key accounts management,
technically competent in handling pharmaceutical and other medical
products. - Ability to demonstrate market knowledge
and have contacts both locally and internationally in the
pharmaceutical/medical world. - Should have very good communication
skills, organized, paying attention to detail and highly responsive to the
task at hand. - Computer literacy with very good knowledge
of MS Office and Tally - Good report writing and presentation
skills. - Highly flexible, innovative, a team player,
with good communication, feedback, and interpersonal and supervisory
skills and able to work with a multi-cultural team within the
organization. - Ability to delegate clearly, and have
flair for attention to detail.
