Dairy Development Authority (DDA) is a semi-autonomous agency under the
Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF). It is
established under the Dairy Industry Act of 1998. Its Mission is “To provide
dairy development and regulatory services that will ensure increased production
and consumption of milk, sustainable and profitable dairy industry sector;
contribute to economic development and improved nutritional standards in Uganda.”

Job Summary: The Planner
/Data Officer will provide support in the collection, analysis and processing
of statistical data and information to help in the planning, budgeting and
policy development.

Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for producing briefs, reports,
reviews and other documentations on the status of the dairy sector in the
country. - Tasked with analyzing trends on milk
production and consumption and advice on its effects as well as
implications on the sub-sector and the economy. - In charge of facilitating the preparation
of DDA Ministerial policy statement/Budget Framework paper, (including its
review) sector performance reports. - Responsible for facilitating the
formulation of medium-term and long term plans and strategies for the
sub-sector by coordinating and cooperating with the respective
stakeholders. - Tasked with compiling and analyzing data
as may be required for the department and the Authority in line with the
National Dairy strategy. - Providing technical assistance to the
various departments of the Authority in regard to data handling and
management. - Serve as the focal person for the
Authority’s data and records management. - Preparing statistical report (Annual
statistical Abstract). - Perform any other duties assigned to you
but your supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Dairy
Development Authority (DDA) Planner /Data Officer job placement must hold
a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Statistics or any other related field. - Possession of a post graduate
qualification in project planning and management or Monitoring &
evaluation is an added advantage. - A minimum of two years’ experience in
annual work planning & budgeting in the public sector. - Previous experience in preparation of policy
statements, budget framework papers & conversant with the GOU planning
process. - Possess advanced computer skills,
particularly spreadsheets & databases - Hands-on skills and experience gained in
impact assessment, monitoring and evaluation, economic analysis, program
and project formulation, data collection and analysis and performance
assessment.
