About US:
Good Neighbors is an international, non-profit humanitarian
organization committed to child education, community development, and emergency
relief projects in 30 countries around the world. We have fundraising offices
in the USA, Korea, and Japan, and an International Cooperation Office in
Geneva. Good Neighbors USA opened its Los Angeles office in 2007, which
currently handles fundraising, donor management, volunteer programs, and
marketing campaigns for all major projects. In December 2010, a Washington D.C.
office was established to network and partner with other organizations, as well
as obtain grants from U.S. government agencies and foundations.
Job Summary: The
Administration and Health Worker will primarily advocate for improved health
resources and policies that promote health. The incumbent will have
responsibility for ensuring that the health project is successful.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • Be part of the health project implementation
    team
  • Tasked with planning of project field trip
    activities with the project team
  • Training of village health workers
    continuous monitoring of trained VHT’s work
  • Tasked with the creation of strong
    relationship between the key stakeholders within the district
  • Work closely with the health of project
    team & trained VHTs, the health worker will develop programs and
    events to teach people about identified health topics (through outreach
    programs)
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the project
  • Advocate for improved health resources and
    policies that promote health
  • Perform any other duties as might be
    required by the supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s
    degree in health education/nursing or community health promotion or any
    related qualifications
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in
    Community health working.
  • Community health training knowledge
  • Highly knowledgeable with NGO work more
    especially in implementing health related projects
  • Ability to move away from home for long
    distances for organizational activities
  • Ability to operate a computer like Ms
    Word, Excel and power point 
  • He/she must have inter personal skills
    Being a native of Jinja District or able to Speak Lusoga or Luganda is an
    added advantage.
  • He/she must have multi-tasking skills
  • Skills in report writing
