Job Summary: The Project
Management Specialist (Governance) provides USAID/Uganda’s Democracy,
Human Rights and Governance (DRG) Office and the Mission technical leadership,
program management, and program implementation support related to local
government, decentralization, accountability, civil society strengthening, and
the integration of DRG objectives and principles across the Mission’s
portfolio. The primary function of this position is to support existing
activities such as the Governance, Accountability, and Participation,
Performance Program (GAPP) by working with the Contracting Officer’s
Representative (COR) to ensure administrative and technical oversight. The
Specialist serves as an advisor on issues and activities as they relate to
ensuring accountability, political, judicial and local government systems are
woven into other sectors such as health, agriculture and education. The
position will also support the DRG Office efforts to engage with external
stakeholders including development partners, the host government, civil
society, and the USG inter-agency. The incumbent also manages assigned
activities within the portfolio to help achieve the Mission’s development
objectives and results of its Country Development Cooperation Strategy (CDCS).
