About Us:
The Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) is an international non-profit
organization which is a partnership of infectious diseases and public health
specialists. The overall objective of the IDI is to strengthen health systems
with strong emphasis on Infectious Diseases, through Research and Capacity Development.
IDI has five operational areas through which it works to achieve its mission:
Prevention, Care and Treatment; Training, Research and Laboratory services
(provided through a partnership with the Makerere University – John Hopkins
University Core Lab) and Outreach.
Job Summary: The Regional
Programme Manager will oversee all aspects of the Programme including
technical, financial and administrative oversight; as well as monitoring,
evaluation and reporting functions in line with the donors, Government and
IDI’s policies and procedures.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • Provide leadership and technical and
    management responsibility for Project implementation, including staff and
    project activity supervision.
  • The jobholder will also manage quality and
    timely reporting to the donor and other Project stakeholders.
  • Develop work plans, budgets and narratives
    as required.
  • Take lead in all activities related to USG
    transition of activities/services for the West Nile region in line with
    funders and MoH guidelines
  • Tasked with managing sub-granting
    contracts with districts and ensuring that the terms and conditions of
    Memorandum of Understanding /financial agreements are complied with.
  • Take lead on District Led Programming
    activities in line with the expectations of the funders and other
    stakeholders.



Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s
    Degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) from a recognized university and an
    Advanced Degree in Public Health ora related health field.
  • Possession of a post graduate diploma in
    Project Planning and Management will be an added advantage.
  • At least four years of successful
    management of public health/Health Systems strengthening/ HIV & AIDS
    projects.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with the functioning
    of the decentralized Local Government System of Uganda.
  • Extensive knowledge of PEPFAR/US
    Government programming policies and procedures
