Justice and Advocacy for Women and Children Uganda (JAWCU) is a
national non-governmental organization based in Uganda. We believe in equality

marginalized groups. JAWCU’s work revolves around promoting social justice and
community development by advocating for protection of the vulnerable groups’
rights. We believe that if the vulnerable groups like women, children, youth,
the disabled, people living with HIV/AIDS and others are empowered, and made to
realize their full potential, they would be an asset to economic development.
About Project:
Justice and Advocacy for Women and Children in Uganda is implementing
the DREAMS Project in Mityana and Mubende districts.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • Oversee all assigned project activities
    and be a contact for the donor and field staff
  • Ensure project activities comply with the
    policies and regulations of the donor organization.
  • Manage the development and execution of
    project deliverables, lead project planning, budgeting, action plans and
    monitoring processes.
  • Prepare and submit activity reports on the
    project under his or her charge.
  • Actively participate in the preparation
    and submission of annual activity based project budgets as well as monthly
    and quarterly project progress reports and preparation of funding
    proposals
  • Lead and motivate the project team and
    monitor project activities and project expenditure as well as coordinate
    work with consultants and volunteers in the project.
  • The incumbent will ensure close
    collaboration and coordination with cooperating partners to guarantee
    smooth implementation of activities and achievement of results as
    specified in grant agreements.
  • Employ resourcefulness in project design,
    implementation and monitoring.
  • The jobholder will also trouble shoot
    project problems, identify and implement creative solutions.



Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the DREAMS Project
    Coordinator job placement should preferably a Bachelor’s degree in SWSA or
    BA. Social Sciences or relevant qualification.
  • Computer literacy i.e. proficient in the
    use of Microsoft Word and Power Point and have relevant working experience
    in project work.
  • This position requires a person who is
    mature and able to command respect, with a firm personality.
  • The jobholder must be result-oriented and
    self-driven; trust worthy and capable of working extra hours to meet
    deadlines whenever need arises.
  • The candidate should be a good
    communicator, a team player and computer literate.
