About US:
The National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) was established
under the National Environment Act Cap. 153 to promote and ensure sound
environmental management practices for sustainable development in Uganda.
Job Summary: The Transport
and Logistics Officer will manage the transport and logistical operations of
the Authority.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • Supervise drivers and ensure proper use of
    vehicle logbooks;
  • Maintain the Authority fleet to ensure
    each vehicle is appropriately routed, scheduled and maintained;
  • The jobholder will also ensure individual
    drivers routinely check their vehicle and compile service reports.
  • Coordinate and ensure routine maintenance
    and repairs with prequalified service centres;
  • Allocate vehicles to directorates and
    ensure authorized usage;
  • Renew vehicle licenses and insurance,
    issue fuel vouchers when the need arises; and
  • Perform any other duties as may be
    assigned.



Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The ideal candidate for the NEMA Transport
    and Logistics Officer job opportunity should hold a Bachelor’s degree in
    any of the following: Mechanical Engineering, Fleet Management, Transport
    and Logistics Management, Public Administration from a recognized
    Institution.
  • At least three years of relevant work
    experience in fleet management in a reputable organization
  • Strong communication, leadership and
    interpersonal skills;
  • Computer literacy skills
  • Keen attention to detail.
