Job Summary: The Livelihoods
Officer is the lead in the area of livelihoods implementation in Omugo Camp.
The incumbent will also be working closely with a local partner NGO to advise
on the selection of youth entrepreneurs from refugee and host communities for
trainings and conducting Information Education, and Communication (IEC)
sessions within the community.

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- The Livelihoods Officer will also
effectively manage youth start-up grants ensuring that gender sensitive
and environmental friendly business proposals for financial and technical
support are properly drafted, reviewed and supported to transform
community youth ideas into successfully running more self-reliant business.
- The Livelihoods officer will also ensure
that the approved work plan is properly implemented as agreed with the
supervisor - The Livelihood Officer will play a role in
planning and preparation of weekly monthly and quarterly work plans and
reports on field activities are properly drafted and timely submitted to
the Initiative Manager. - The jobholder will be responsible for
writing and documenting case stories of lessons learnt. - The Livelihoods Officer will maintain,
monitor and update a gender and ace disaggregated livelihood data system
for use by CARE and othr implementing partners. S/he will monitor business
start-up grants and perform monthly spot-checks on established youth
business initiatives.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the CARE
International Livelihoods Officer must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in
Business Management, or similar. - Possession of a Diploma in Education or
training is desirable. - A minimum of two years’ experience in
managing Economic Empowerment projects with ability to deliver sustainable
community-based business entrepreneurships or hands on skills in
implementation of livelihood projects, preferably in the refugee context. - Excellent inter-personal communication
skills; sound judgment arc decision making skills. - Ability to network, build relationships
and establish collaboration with different partners, agencies local and
international networks.
