and appliances to households and businesses in Uganda. The company started in
2011 and has since opened 46 branches throughout Uganda, employs around 600
people.
Job Summary: The Research
and Development Officer will be tasked with ensuring the quality of the
SolarNow Products. The incumbent will be working on new Technologies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Introduction:
·        
Testing and Specification:
Test products against the company defined test methods, suggest updates to the
test methods where relevant
·        
Launch: Test new products
prior to launch as per company test method to ensure they meet sample
specification
Intervention:
·        
Report:  You test products as per requirements to
better understand issues being experience by clients and highlighted in Product
Insights Engine
·        
You create basic intervention reports and roll
out basic interventions based on your testing and insights from officers to
enable improved products.
Interface/ Communications: Support development of
communications out to Desks to promote the work you do and understanding on how
your team works.
Management/ Coaching
·        
Reporting: You prepare your
weekly report on time to enable accurate tracking of your work and the team
·        
Mentoring and Coaching: You
support the development of the team through sharing skills and abilities



Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
·        
The ideal candidate for the SolarNow Research
and Development Officer job opportunity must hold a Diploma in Electrical
Engineering, Electronics or related field
·        
Computer literacy skills i.e.
Excel/Word/PowerPoint
·        
Good and consistent performance record.
·        
Highly motivated and passionate about work.
·        
Pay keen attention to detail.
·        
Able to work with minimum supervision.
·        
Good communication & reporting skills.
·        
Team player / People Management skills.
·        
Good team player
·        
Self-motivated
