National Water and Sewerage
Corporation (NWSC) a leading organisation in the Water sector in Uganda with a
Vision “To be a leading Water Utility in the World.” NWSC is a utility
parastatal 100% owned by The Government of Uganda. It was established in 1972
under decree No: 34. The mandate of the Corporation as defined in the National
Water & Sewerage Corporation Statute of 1995, Section 5 (1), is to operate
and provide water and sewerage services in areas entrusted to it, on a sound,
commercial and viable basis. The NWSC operations were initially in three towns
of Kampala, Jinja, and Entebbe.
Job Summary: The Human
Resources Officer will ensure that the Human Resources employed meet the short,
medium and long term objectives and that every employee’s potential and
energies are directed to improve the overall performance of the company.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Receive
    and process requests for recruitment
  • The
    jobholder will prepare and update manpower levels
  • Update
    salary scales of all employees
  • Supervise
    management of all staff welfare schemes
  • Manage
    the medical scheme and produces all medical reports for management
    information
  • Maintain
    and update personnel record through the Human Resource Management
  • Information
    System software
  • The
    Human Resources Officer will also prepare the leave roaster and process
    all staff leave
  • Issues
    and renews identity cards.



Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    Human Resources Officer should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource
    Management.
  • One
    year of post qualification experience
  • High
    integrity.
  • Ability
    to work under minimum supervision.
  • Knowledge
    of labour laws of Uganda.
  • Proficiency
    in Human Resources Management Principles and Procedures.
  • The
    jobholder should be ready to work long hours.
  • Must
    be a mature and seasoned professional manager who is able to interact and
    coordinate activities well with staff at all levels of the company.
  • Age: Below 35 years.
