• Spearhead
  the development of the data management, medical records and information
  policy of the hospital
• Supervise
  and train staff /subordinates on how to collect data manage it and promote
  high quality service
• Liaise
  with medical /nursing staff to conduct quality assessment of data on all
  wards
• Carry
  out periodic auditing of the data and data systems
• Produce
  complete, accurate, consistent data and reports as may be required
• Streamline
  data collection and analysis procedures to ensure fast access to metrics
• Participate
  in research/data review meetings where necessary
• Compile
  the weekly, monthly and quarterly HMIS reports and ensure timely
  submission to the District Health Information Systems, MOH, CDC
• Draw
  plans and budgets for maintenance and updates of the data information
  systems
• Provide
  technical support on the utilization of the different databases namely
  OPEN MRS, EPI INFO
• Manage
  the hospital medical records unit
• Ensure
  availability of patient information only to authorized persons or clients
  as per the existing Hospital policy

• The
  ideal candidate for the Data Manager job opportunity should preferably
  hold a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Business Statistics, Computer
  Science, or the equivalent from a recognized institution
• At
  least three years of experience in data management/analysis preferably in
  a clinical research setting.
• Experience
  in using relational databases such as SPSS, ACCESS, STATA, EPI INFO, SQL
  databases, in database modeling
• Excellent
  organizational skills i.e. team management, Customer Service, attention to
  detail, proactive self-starter, critical thinker, confidentiality of
  medical records
• Ability
  to extrapolate conclusions from large data sets
• Advanced
  MS-Excel Skills,
• Ability
  to work in respect of internal guidelines, GCP, Standard Operating
  Procedures and study protocols strong interest in clinical research
